EMX
Industries Inc., a manufacturer of sensors for automation, announces
the ColorMax P version color sensor, the highest resolution and fastest
RGB sensor on the market. Data Logging: In addition, the ColorMax P
version application software allows for data communication and
statistical analysis based on the standard Office Excell software.
Non-Standard Features: EMX’s new sensor comes with standard features
that are not provided standard in the industry. Unlike many other
sensors, the ColorMax has full application software with control over
the target illumination and the ability to view color without
reflection. Most color sensors have only a red and green LED, which
provide little information. Also – unlike other color sensors – the
ColorMax has no controls on the sensor so unauthorized operator cannot
change the settings and cause errors. The output is automatically
configured to PNP or NPN upon power-up, aiding in setup. The light
source intensity is variable so it can be adapted to the background.

Monitoring Sensor with Ground Isolation

In
large engines, there are often distances of up to 30 meters between the
location of the combustion pressure sensor and the evaluation
electronics. If both the sensor and the evaluation electronics are
connected to ground, high ground loop currents can flow between these
two grounding points. As a result, the analog output signal of the
sensor will be super-imposed with strong interference signals. To solve
this problem, Kistler is now offering a ground-insulated
monitoring sensor: the inner part of the sensor Type 6353A24 is
electrically insulated from the sensor case. There is no electrical
contact between the charge amplifier case and the engine either. This
ground insu-lated construction prevents ground loops between the sensor
and the electronic units con-nected to it. An additional adaptation to
the industrial environment is a current output allowing the cylinder
pressure signal to be transmitted over large distances free of

potential as well as the temperature can be passed on to PLC or

pressure transients, pulsations, turbulence, noise, and spikes. They are
ideal for rocket motor testing to verify the amplitude and mode of
