Taratura di coppia di massima precisione con
trasduttori di riferimento |
| |
HBM:
rilevando i pesi manualmente.
industriale. ... |

SHT21 humidity sensor features improved temperature
specs |
| |
Following
the successful launch of the world’s smallest digital humidity
and temperature sensor in 2010, the fully calibrated sensors of
the SHT2x family have already won design slots in many

accuracy at the limits of the measuring range has been
distinctly improved. This enables customers to benefit from
significant product improvements with unchanged pricing. Along
with outstanding longterm stability and low power consumption,
very high precision can now be achieved over a temperature range
that is significant for many applications. According to product
manager Vincent Hess, “this makes the SHT21 specifically
suitable for applications with very stringent temperature
accuracy requirements.” ... |

Micronas presenting new generation of Hall sensors for extended
position measurement |
| |
Micronas,
a leading supplier of cutting-edge sensor and IC system
solutions for automotive and industrial electronics, presents a
new generation of Hall sensors for linear position measurement
with their HAL 38xy family. The HAL 38xy family is firmly based
on the 3D Hall technology which features two vertical and one
horizontal Hall plate. Accompanying Micronas’ market launch of
this new generation is a first spin-off, the HAL 3855. The HAL
3855 is strictly speaking a 2D position sensor, as it needs only
two components of a magnetic field in order to enable a linear
position measurement. If an axially magnetized magnet is moved
parallel to the surface of the sensor housing, the sensor
detects every change in the magnetic field components By and Bz.
The internal digital signal processing of the HAL 3855 puts the
measured values in relation to each other and so delivers the
displacement information at the output side by way of an analog

A change of resistance in the presence of these gases generates
a signal that is linked to specific gas concentration ranges and
is translated into parts per million (ppm) CO2 equivalent units.
The iAQ-engine alerts the DCV or HVAC system to increase
ventilation when defined threshold limits are exceeded, and
decrease ventilation when VOC levels return to normal. ... |

transducers and associated electronics, has introduced the 3274A
series of miniature, low profile, IEPE piezoelectric
accelerometers designed to mount in spaces typically
inaccessible to other types of accelerometers. Available in
three different models with sensitivities of 5 mV/g, 10 mV/g and
25 mV/g, the 3274A series feature a shear sensing element
packaged in a lightweight, teardrop titanium housing. Units are
ideal for the measurement of shock and vibration of very small,
lightweight objects such as printed circuit boards and
board-mounted components. Designed for adhesive mount, the
Dytran 3274A series have an upper frequency response of 10,000
Hz, an overall height of just 0.24 inches and weigh 2 grams. Due
to their low mass and high crystal stiffness, units have a
resonant frequency of >40 kHz, allowing them to be used to
measure high frequency vibration with very little error. The
Dytran 3274A family of accelerometers utilizes IEEE 1451.4
Transducer Electronic Data Sheets (TEDS). This function allows
the user to query individual sensors within a large array of
sensors during a field test, as to model number, serial number,
sensitivity and other attributes using a TEDS compatible signal
conditioner/data acquisition system ... |

Sensortechnics’ Highly Sensitive LBA Differential Pressure Sensors
Offer New Ultra-Low Pressure Ranges From 25 Pa |
| |
Sensortechnics’
LBA differential pressure sensors are based on thermal mass flow
measurement of air or gas through a micro-flow channel
integrated within the silicon sensor chip. Due to the highly
sensitive measuring principle the LBA sensor achieves excellent
resolution and offset stability. The LBA series now offers,
ultra-low pressure ranges from 25 Pa Full Scale in addition to
the existing 250 Pa and 500 Pa ranges. The LBA sensors perform
fully analog on-chip CMOS signal conditioning to allow for
linear and temperature compensated outputs with fast response
times. By integrating the micro-flow channel on the sensor chip
level, the gas flow through the LBA sensors is decreased by
several magnitudes compared to conventional flow-based pressure
sensors. This extremely low flow ensures high immunity to dust
contamination and condensation and allows the use of connecting
tubes and input filters without the need to recalibrate or
correct the output signal. Further, complex housing
constructions are eliminated thus making small and
cost-effective PCB-mountable devices possible. Important
features of the LBA series Differential Pressure Sensors are ... |

If space is a problem - Temposonics® EH for small cylinders |
| |
MTS
has revised the complete product family of Temposonics®
E series sensors and integrated the latest developments in the
field of magnetostriction. A particularly suitable model for
direct stroke measurement in hydraulic cylinders with small bore
diameters is the new Temposonics® EH. It is presently the
smallest series-produced magnetostrictive sensor type for
absolute, contactless position measurement in industrial
applications. With a length of only 48 mm, a diameter of 34 mm
and an optional 7 or 10 mm measuring tube, this model is the
sensor of choice if the space conditions are limited. The new,
hermetically sealed stainless steel housing prevents corrosion,
and protection mode IP69K makes it absolutely dust and
waterproof. The EH sensor measuring lengths range from 50 to
2500 mm (analog output) or 3000 mm (start/stop output). Small
position magnets adequate for the EH version are also available. ... |

Melexis Reinvents the Programmable Linear Hall Sensor |
| |
Melexis,
the pioneer in programmable linear Hall sensors today launches
its third product generation. This new family breaks with the
conventional "single-in-line-package" (SIP) approach. SIP
packages require more careful design consideration to avoid
mounting, space, EMI, reliability and cost penalties at the
system level in many applications. The new Melexis programmable
linear Hall ICs are surface-mount devices (SMD) supporting the
trend for improved manufacturability of sensor assemblies and
modules. The SMD approach has already been proven for several
years with the dual-die full-redundant programmable linear Hall
product MLX90277 which is used successfully in more than 20
million accelerator pedals. Now the SMD approach gets also
applied for a single-die device. This device family can be
implemented for numerous position sensing applications.
Specifically for short stroke linear motion, when combined with
an appropriate magnetic circuit and adequate magnet thermal
compensation. Vincent Hiligsmann, Product Line Manager in charge
of the Hall Sensors at Melexis comments: "Our market surveys and
initial feedback are clear: there are many industrial and
automotive applications which were waiting for a
state-of-the-art, high-accuracy and cost-effective programmable
linear Hall sensor in surface-mount package but without any
allowable premium for a Melexis Triaxis solution. The third
generation of Melexis programmable linear Hall sensor ICs
addresses those needs ... |

Ultrasonic sensors for wood chip level control |
| |
WayCon
Positionsmesstechnik: Wood chip or wood pellet heating
systems are modern CO2-neutral biomass heating systems for both
private and large industrial plants. As the volume consumption
is relatively large compared to liquid fuels, the knowledge of
the current level is particularly important. For large
industrial heaters the feed quantity has to be controlled and
thus measured as well. Conventional simple level gauges are
often overstretched because of the dirty and dusty environment
in a tank or on a chip-conveyor belt. Whereas ultrasonic sensors
measure reliably even in dusty air and with polluted membrane.
Wood pellets are pressed sawdust with no additives. They are
particularly suitable for home heating. Wood chips are used
mainly in agriculture and industry, where wood residues are
available almost for free. Best suited ultrasonic sensors for
this application are the UFA or the UN Series. ... |

Optimal light spots for every application |
| |
Leuze
electronic has designed the new HRTR 25B-S reflection
light scanner with focussed light spot optimally for the
detection of glossy surfaces – and equipped the HRTR 25B-XL
scanner with an extra large light spot for positioning tasks at
the same time. For many users, this is an interesting split
within the powerful 25B series. The S design enables reliable
detection of objects with glossy and differently structured
surfaces with its focussed light spot. The XL design is the top
device for positioning tasks due to the large light spot. With
this sensor, exact edge detection and positioning is also
possible on glossy, perforated metallic surfaces as well as on
rack bars and stands. In addition, the large lights spot of the
XL design is optimally suited for the detection of not
completely closed containers. Reflection light scanners with
background suppression of the 25B sensor series from Leuze
electronic are characterized particularly through their scanning
range limits of up to 1000 mm ... |

PCB Piezotronics Microphones Help Analyze Tornadoes |
| |
PCB
Piezotronics, Inc., a global leader in vibration,
acoustic, pressure, force, and torque sensors, recently teamed
up with the TWISTEX (Tactical Weather Instrumented Sampling in
Tornadoes/Thunderstorms Experiment) project to analyze and
characterize tornadoes by using PCB's ¼" free field microphone
and preamplifier model 378C01. The TWISTEX team is working to
collect acoustic measurements from within the tornado core. The
research is aimed toward increasing tornado warning lead time.
Tim Samaras, principal investigator, explained, "The goal of
this test is to collect the acoustic signature of strong and
violent tornadoes in order to measure near-ground tornado
intensity. By doing so, we can collect frequency distribution
and location of the sound waves present in tornadoes." Tim's
background includes over 34 years of blast pressures
measurements from energetic events ranging from just a few grams
of explosives to over 620 tons of explosives in the deserts of
White Sands Missile Range. Tim states, "The ability to
accurately measure large amplitudes, combined with the
robustness of PCB's 1/4" microphone and preamplifier systems
allowed us to accomplish our objectives in this demanding,
hostile environment." ... |

The general trend with code readers doesn't stop
short of hand-held scanners |
| |
In
spite of newer technologies, e.g. RFID, the use of barcodes and
2D codes for material flow applications has not fallen off. In
addition to stationary readers, Leuze electronic
produces hand-held scanners which are often used in sub-areas of
conveyor and storage systems, e.g. in order picking. The demands
made on hand-held scanners are getting ever tougher; reading
must be reliable even when the codes are damaged, are located on
curved or bent surfaces or are highly reflective. The new IT
1900 hand-held scanners fulfil these requirements and have
really raised the bar. Thanks to a new higher resolution camera
chip, adjusted optics and high-performance decoding software,
reading fields up to two times larger than in the previous model
are achieved. Many codes can be read even from very short
distances with increased tolerance in relation to moving objects
and in a shorter length of time. While speeds up to 0.5 m/s used
to be allowed, speeds of up to 6 m/s are now permissible. Due to
shorter evaluation times, reading can be done with more
redundancy, which for the customer means more reliability when
reading ... |
