New piezoresistive pressure sensors from
PEWATRON |
| |
PEWATRON
AG is offering a new range of pressure sensors. The PHPSD series are
piezoresistive pressure sensors with a measuring range of 0...10 mbar up
to 7 bar. These sensors are available with or without temperature
compensation and amplifier, as well as with a choice of either digital
or analogue output signal in each case. Accuracies of <1 % can be
guaranteed depending on the particular version. We can offer customised
variants to handle the various measuring tasks required by specific
fields of use. Suitable applications are primarily those in medical
technology such as ventilator devices, blood pressure measurement, and
many more. ... |

NASA Stennis Space Center Awards Sensor
Development Contract to Lion Precision |
| |
|
Lion Precision, a leading manufacturer of high-performance
displacement sensors, was awarded a Cooperative Agreement with NASA’s
Stennis Space Center to develop a smart sensor and the associated
communication protocols to monitor valve position and wear. The eddy-current
displacement sensors will monitor valves responsible for the flow of
liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen in rocket engine test cells. Sensor
measurements and sensor health information will be transmitted using
MTConnect communication protocol. Development of the system will require
the expansion of MTConnect to include new XML tags for sensor
measurement and health parameters. Don Martin, president of Lion
Precision, is the chairperson of the Sensors Working Group for MTConnect.
Rocket engine tests are very expensive to perform. Failures during the
test require scrapping and later repeating the test at great expense. To
help prevent failures, the sensors will monitor the condition of
critical valves. The sensors will provide a precise measurement of the
final seated position of the valve when closed. That position verifies
that the valve is closed and also indicates valve wear. This data will
inform operators when a valve requires maintenance rather than waiting
until it fails or performing costly, unnecessary maintenance at a
predefined time interval. The sensors will also monitor their own
functionality and report any apparent malfunctions of the sensing system. ... |

Penny + Giles’ extends output options on
rugged single/dual output rotary position sensors for factory automation
applications |
| |
Penny
+ Giles, a business group of Curtiss-Wright Controls and a designer
and manufacturer of position sensors, solenoids, and manual controllers
has expanded the output options of the company’s rugged SRH501P and
SRH502P contactless rotary position sensors. The newly announced analog
voltage output options make these sensors ideal for use in Factory
Automated systems and Process Control machinery. With their newly
offered support for 0 to 10Vdc analog voltage output, a signal commonly
used by machine controllers and recording instruments, the rugged Hall
effect-based SRH501P and SRH502P sensors significantly expand their
application range. Both the single output SRH501P and the dual output
SRH502P feature a programmable sensor. Designed for use in extreme
environments, these sensors are based on contactless Hall effect
technology, which enable them to operate in high dither vibration
conditions with no deterioration of the sensing element. Their
resistance to shock and vibration makes these sensors ideal for many
position monitoring applications in a wide range of machine applications
in factory automated systems and process control machinery. ... |

Clean-In-Place Pressure Transducer
Features Flush Diaphragm |
| |
Stellar
Technology: The Series FT31XX clean-in-place (CIP) pressure
transmitters are designed specifically to meet the rigorous demands of
the wet and hostile environments of industrial process applications that
use a flush diaphragm and Tri-Clover flange clamps. These pressure
transmitters incorporate a one-piece, non-welded diaphragm for reliable
performance and long life in process applications such as homogenizers,
heat exchangers, filters, pasteurizers, emulsifiers, surge tanks, and
biopharmaceutical mixers. In addition, the FT31XX design does not use an
oil fill, thus eliminating the possibility of process contamination.
Users can select from analog outputs of 4-20 mA, numerous voltage
outputs, as well as digital outputs ranging from RS232 and RS485 to
CANbus. The FT31XX offers isolated voltage output as standard for
voltage output units. All internal electronics are fully potted for
shock and vibration resistance and thermal stability. ... |
